Malcom “Chap” Chapman, of Rapid City, South Dakota, is a former U.S. Marine Corps Officer who served three terms as a Councilman for Rapid City. Chapman has worked in professional sales with NY Life Insurance Company, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, and Konica Business Machines. He is an active National League of Cities advocate, participant, and presenter, who holds a Masters’ Degree in Public Administration and was the 2008 South Dakota Municipal League Excellence in Municipal Government Award recipient. As service has been central to Chapman throughout his life, he is working to further early childhood education, community leadership, arts-based community development, and affordable housing issues. For his work with service clubs and community leadership capacity building, Chapman was selected as a 2015-2017 Bush Fellow.
