Rapid City, South Dakota
Steve Allender is a native South Dakotan, and was raised in a military family.
Steve began his career in law enforcement in 1983 and spent the next 32 years serving in various capacities including seven years as Chief of Police for the Rapid City Police Department in South Dakota. He retired from the RCPD in May 2014.
In June, 2015 Steve was elected Mayor of Rapid City and is currently serving in his third term.
Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in management and has attended the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA.
He is married to his high school sweetheart, Shirley and they have two adult children and twin three year old granddaughters.
