Sophia Davis joined the City of Charlotte-Mayor’s Youth Employment Program (MYEP) in 2011 which partners with local employers to introduce high school youth to the workforce. Sophia comes with extensive knowledge of dropout prevention garnered in her previous role as a site coordinator for Communities In Schools of Mecklenburg County; a national, community-based dropout prevention program. Today, Sophia is proud to continue her work with helping some of our most vulnerable students stay in school and succeed in life. She has committed herself to collaborating with elected officials, community partners and the business community to build healthier and more economically stable communities where every person is capable of reaching his or her greatest potential.  Sophia’s ultimate goal is to help teens develop career goals, stay in school, achieve academically and hone social skills needed to succeed in work and life.
