Dr. William Kerr

Dr. Kerr is in his 23rd year as a superintendent of schools and in his eighth year as Superintendent of Schools for the Norwin School District, which serves Westmoreland and Allegheny Counties near Pittsburgh, Pa.

Bill earned a Doctorate in Education and is a graduate of the Department of Administrative Policy and Studies, School of Education, University of Pittsburgh.

Bill has broad-based experiences as a teacher, principal, and central office administrator in five southwestern Pennsylvania school districts.  He is a charter member and executive committee member of the Western Pennsylvania Forum for School Superintendents.  Bill serves on the executive board of the Saint Vincent College Drug Prevention Projects and is chairman of the education committee for the FBI Pittsburgh Heroin Outreach Prevention and Education (HOPE) Initiative. This is a partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration and Discovery Education’s K-12 Operation Prevention program, which aims to educate students about the science of addiction and the impact of opioid drugs.

Bill is married to Debra L. Kerr and they have two grown children and one grandson.
