Urban Land Institute
Ashley Robertson is a Senior Associate who joined the Urban Land Institute team in June 2018. Ashley works to advance the education mission of the organization through implementation of UrbanPlan, a development simulation tool which engages and educates students, community leaders, and public officials on the land use decisions and complex trade-offs integral to the development process. Ashley also supports the Advisory Services program, which provides communities with practical solutions to challenging land use, design, and real estate challenges.
Prior to joining ULI, Ashley worked as a city planning consultant for Wisconsin-based firm, Vandewalle & Associates, where she specialized in economic development, redevelopment, and planning strategy for private and public-sector clients across the Midwest. While there, Ashley served as a project manager on redevelopment initiatives ranging in scope from downtown redevelopment and neighborhood engagement, to multi-county economic repositioning strategies. Ashley is also an artist with a deep passion for the role of the arts in community revitalization. While in Madison, she served as a Dane County Arts Commissioner and on the Madison Public Market Design Committee.
Ashley received her Master’s in City & Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill where she specialized in Real Estate & Placemaking. She also holds a Bachelor’s in International Studies from Spelman College, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
