City Workforce Administrator

Ana Acevedo, a native of San Antonio, has dedicated her life’s work to improving educational and economic opportunities to underserved populations. With 25 years of experience in the field of education, Ana has worked in Maryland, Washington, DC, Austin, and San Antonio as a bilingual teacher, principal, district administrator, national and local non-profit educational leader, and municipal administrator. Currently, Ana serves as the Workforce Administrator in the Economic Development Department for the City of San Antonio. In this role, Ana works with local workforce development nonprofits to ensure a continuum of workforce development service is accessible to the community. Additionally, Ana engages with educational institutions and employers on initiatives that lead to inclusive economic growth for the prosperity of all local residents. Ana earned her B.A. in Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania and her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Maryland. She is a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
