Synopsis

NLC wants to provide cities of all sizes with the tools and resources they need to ensure their residents and critical infrastructure are prepared for climate impacts. As our organization designs new programs, research, and advocacy campaigns related to climate resilience and preparedness, we want to hear from you to ensure your voices are heard.

Extreme events and natural disasters such as wildfires, hurricanes, floods, heat waves, and droughts are growing in intensity and frequency across the nation. While elected leaders recognize the economic, social, and often ecological benefits of preparing for these extreme events, the cost of resilient infrastructure, flood mitigation, and other climate adaptation strategies may feel like an insurmountable barrier.

Who should attend: Leaders who are concerned about extreme events in their communities and practitioners with expertise in climate preparedness and hazard mitigation. Join us to share your story and discuss how NLC can support you in your climate preparedness and resilience-building plans, policies, and programs.
