Synopsis

Extreme events and natural disasters such as wildfires, storms, flooding, heat waves, and drought are growing in intensity and frequency across the nation. State and federal resources are increasingly scarce and NLC members have reported significant challenges navigating the recovery process. And while elected leaders recognize the economic and social benefits of preparing for extreme events, the cost of resilient infrastructure may feel like an insurmountable barrier–particularly for smaller cities.

NLC wants to provide cities of all sizes with the tools and resources they need to ensure their residents and critical infrastructure are resilient. As the organization moves forward to design and create new programs, research, and advocacy related to climate resilience and preparedness, we want to hear from you. Join us to share your story and discuss how NLC can help other elected leaders in the face of a rapidly-changing climate.
