Synopsis

Watch the Academy Award-nominated short film Heroin(e) and see first-hand how Huntington, West Virginia—where the overdose rate is 10 times the national average, manages the growing number of opioid overdoses, including prescription pain medications, heroin, and illicitly manufactured fentanyl, and learn about the psychological toll it has on this community. Hear from police, judges, first responders and local nonprofits about their efforts to bring people struggling with addiction to recovery, and learn more about the use of naloxone to treat people experiencing an overdose. Then join in on a discussion with fellow city leaders led by the star of the film, Fire Chief Jan Radar.
