Synopsis

Attendees will receive an overview and briefing on the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy designation, tour of the Culinary Institute of America, and a visit to The Pearl and to the Hotel Emma. The Pearl, located north of downtown San Antonio, provides a unique experience as a top culinary and cultural destination, as well as an example of sustainable urban development. The tour of the Culinary Institute of America will share a glimpse into the culinary legacy of San Antonio as a confluence of cultures. The tour will include a cooking demonstration and food sampling related to the variety of culinary influences of San Antonio’s unique gastronomy. At The Pearl, attendees will stop at some of the most iconic restaurants, and visit Hotel Emma, where they will have the opportunity to explore the importance of the local breweries and explore the German influences of San Antonio’s culinary heritage. The tour will require walking.
