Synopsis

2020 is a crucial moment for many government sustainability strategies to address climate change and engage residents in ways that strengthen community. It is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day and the first year that governments around the world will report progress toward the Paris Climate Accord, making it a benchmark year for local leaders to evaluate progress, accelerate climate action, and sustainably meet the needs of people, place, and prosperity. Join this world-café session—designed for cities of all sizes—to engage in facilitated, small group discussions with topic experts and local government peers through a series of 25-minute rotations addressing breakthroughs in renewable energy, energy efficiency, urban heat, water management, access to parks and natural services, electric vehicles, and equitable engagement.
