Spouse/Guest registration includes access to all conference programming and networking events, with the exception of NLC University Seminars and Mobile Workshops.

A limited number of slots for these tours may also be available once onsite at the conference. To learn about onsite availability, Spouse/Guests can check into the Spouse Guest Lounge, located in Show Office 509 of the Convention Center.

The Spouse/Guest Lounge is open in Room 006A, conveniently located downstairs from conference registration on the river level. During open hours, volunteers from San Antonio will be available to answer questions about the spouse/guest tours (available for sign-up at the registration desk) and to help you find local attractions that will fit your personalized needs while in San Antonio.

Day Out in Gruene, Texas and Lunch

Wednesday, November 20, 2019 | 10:00am - 3:00pm

For a true Texas experience, visit this historic shopping and entertainment district on the banks of the Guadalupe River. Historic Gruene is located in New Braunfels – about 40 minutes north of downtown San Antonio. This charming town is anything but sleepy with tons of unique boutiques, a wine tasting room and live music.

After free time shopping, guests will enjoy lunch at the historic Gristmill restaurant. Located beneath the Gruene water tower in an old cotton gin overlooking the Guadalupe River, the Gristmill is considered one of the most unique spots in Texas.

Hill Country Wine Tour

The Texas Hill Country is the second largest American Vinicultural Area in the country, so you can bet it has a lot of to offer on your day out, especially great wines! Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and hit the hills with us exploring the Hill Country with rural ranches, rolling countryside and miles of vineyards.

You’ll learn all about the history and character of Texas wines, while trying a few along the way. After tasting selections, the bus will head for the Main Street District in Fredericksburg, where guests can enjoy free time roaming the many shops, restaurants and other attractions.

Maverick Whiskey Distillery Tour

The Maverick Distillery creates handmade whiskeys and gin in the heart of downtown San Antonio. One of the whiskeys is inspired by a multiple generations old recipe belonging to Samuel Augustus Maverick, a San Antonio institution who was a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence, a defender of the Alamo and a land baron. Sam Maverick’s great-great-great grandson, Kenneth Maverick owns and operates the distillery out of the recently converted Lockwood National Bank.

The tour includes the story of Samuel Maverick, his wife Mary and their relationship with the Alamo, the history of the 101-year-old bank building, a tour of the distillery right alongside the equipment, not to mention samples of the handcrafted spirits at the conclusion of the tour.

San Antonio City Tour

Friday, November 22, 2019 | 2:00pm - 5:00pm

Enjoy a guided tour of the iconic Alamo! A must see while in San Antonio. It is definitely a story bigger than Texas and 300 years in the making. Learn the history of the Alamo through its massive artifacts collection.

We continue with a guided tour of the magnificent Mission San Jose, the largest of the missions along mission trail and the most restored. Known as the Queen of the Missions.

Lastly, guests enjoy free time at Market Square also called, El Mercado. The nation’s largest Mexican market north of Mexico offers shopping and restaurants to keep all guests entertained.
