John Kinnaird

Council Member John Kinnaird was elected to the Waco, Texas City Council on May 12, 2012 and served as Mayor Pro Tem from May 2013 to May 2014.

Council Member Kinnaird currently serves as Vice Chair of NLC’s Finance, Administration and Intergovernmental Relations (FAIR) Federal Advocacy Committee and holds a position on the Metropolitan Planning Organization’s policy board. In addition, Council Member Kinnaird sits on various boards and committees, including chairing the Waco-McLennan County Public Health District, the Downtown Cultural District, the McLennan County Appraisal District Board, and the I-35 Bridge Lighting Committee.

Following his graduation from Baylor University in 1998, Council Member Kinnaird was hired at Community Bank & Trust as a Credit Analyst. In his 15 years at Community he has risen to the position of Vice President and Trust Officer. He earned his CFA charter in 2012 and works as an investment portfolio manager for the bank’s Trust Department.
